Thursday, May 25, 2023, the documentary Fighting severe malaria in Benin: Fighting fatality was presented by Jean-Yves Le Hesran, Emeritus Research Director at UMR MERIT (IRD) and scientific advisor to the project.
The latter presents the therapeutic itinerary of Beninese children suffering from severe malaria, between the first symptoms and admission to hospital. This period, which is subject to only superficial care on the initiative of parents, delays the proper care of patients. This practice contributes to the increase in mortality among young children affected by the disease.
