A framework agreement was signed by the IRD, the University of Abomey Calavi, the Clinical Research Institute of Benin, the University of Paris Cité and the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris. This agreement aims to establish a framework for cooperation, consultation and exchange of information, promotion and monitoring of research, training, expertise and scientific information activities carried out in partnership between the Parties, in the fields of health, science and societies and humanities.
Cooperation between the Parties, based on partnership, covers:
- the joint implementation of specific training programs decided jointly;
- the joint implementation of research programs, care, or specific actions decided jointly;
- the creation of international joint units and laboratories, after approval by their respective evaluation bodies;
- the valorization of research results and the transfer of technology;
- training actions and the development of staff and students;
- documentation, information and medical, scientific and technical development;
- participation in events and activities to promote and enhance health and research;
- the search for national, regional and international funding;
- and, more generally, any other form of cooperation on which the Parties agree.
Joint projects may include other stakeholders, including in a regional and sub-regional framework.
