Postnatal diagnosis of congenital toxoplasmosis is imperative to ensure optimal medical care.
The early identification of the specific antibodies developed by the newborn is therefore of crucial importance, but is made difficult by their joint presence with maternal immunoglobulins G (IgG) in the serum of the newborn.
The IgName project aims to identify newborn IgGs specific for Toxoplasma gondii, by exploring the individual signatures carried by the heavy chain of IgG and resulting from polymorphisms of several amino acids.
Affinity purification methods are developed and applied to plasmas from the TOXODIAG and PlasDCty studies.
A device adapted to miniaturize these protocols, as well as mass spectrometry for the proteogenomic characterization of IgG, and a mapping of the glycosylation of IgG are also implemented. (https://anr.fr/Projet-ANR-19-CE44-0004)
