Children born to Pf-infected mothers are more likely to develop infections during childhood. This phenomenon is already observed from birth but the underlying mechanisms are not known. The objectives of this project are (i) to describe the modulation of neonatal dendritic cells following maternal Pf infection during pregnancy, (ii) to study the ability of these cells to induce T cell activation and (ii ) activate dendritic cells with an innovative vaccine molecule targeting them.
