The project, led by David Courtin and involving Richard Lalou and Adrian Luty from MERIT, aims to produce sensors to measure air quality and increase the production of reliable spatial and temporal data on fine particulate matter concentrations in three major cities in Ghana (Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast). This data, essential for developing pollution reduction strategies, will also allow the IRD-affiliated Young Research Team (JEAI) RIPE – Respiratory illnesses and air pollution exposure – to study the link between exposure to fine particulate matter and respiratory health.
